The D23 Expo is off to a wild start as Disney just announced that Avengers Campus will be expanding. Disney’s California Adventure section will see a brand new attraction joining Spider-Man’s WEB Slingers and Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout. This move appears to have been telegraphed for a while. People flocked to California Adventure to see their favorite Avengers in person and take pictures with them. Marvel has debuted the newest characters from the Disney+ shows and movies in the parks, too. So, the news from CEO Bob Chapek is timely to many visitors. There is no indication what the flight will be like at the moment. But the Avengers social media account says there will be an all-new story to bring the guests into battle alongside their favorite heroes. Check out another ad here below.
Comicbook.com had the opportunity to speak with Walt Disney Imagineer Brent Strong before opening this section of California Adventure. While these may not be the 616 champions, their goals are pretty much the same.

“First of all, you know, the mission of inspiring and empowering the next generation of heroes is so important that we’ve assembled heroes from all over space and time for that, for that mission. And it is, we’re all about to find out in a couple of weeks When Loki comes out, time is a lot more squishy than any of us think,” Walt Disney Imagineer Walt Strong told us. “And then trying to date it, it can be difficult, but for us, Avengers Campus is here and now, well, we have to live in the moment and these heroes are here with us and you share that story.”
“This is where we really get to and answer the call and become heroes, and join Spider-Man on an action-packed adventure where you can actually use webs like Spider-Man,” Executive Creative Director, Walt Disney continued to imagine when we spoke in 2020. This is an attraction for the whole family. There is no height requirement in this. This is something guests of all ages can live up to this epic action, which is great.”
